St Peter’s Residents’ Association: Tour of The King’s School’s Maugham Library

Two tours – Sunday 20th March at 2pm and 4pm
Meeting at The Mint Yard entrance in The Borough

This event is being organised by the St Peter’s Residents’ Association and the tour will be conducted by the school’s archivist, Peter Henderson.
The Maugham Library holds around 2,000 books from Somerset Maugham’s own library and include annotations from the writer ‘at work’. Additionally, The Hugh Walpole Collection is a wonderful collection of literary manuscripts and many of the major English authors are represented, including the Brontë sisters, Lord Byron, Lewis Carroll, George Eliot, Rudyard Kipling, D H Lawrence, Rossetti, Sir Walter Scott, Thackeray, Virginia Woolf and Yeats.
