The University Chorus and Symphony Orchestra come together in Canterbury Cathedral in a programme of contrasting works by composers at different periods in their lives; Mendelssohn’s precocious first symphony, full of energy and vigour, and Haydn’s latter mastepiece, the Missa in Angustiis (Mass in Troubled Times), nicknamed in honour of Nelson’s famed victory at the Battle of the Nile.
