Biodiversity Network Event

Canterbury District Biodiversity Network’s next event will feature a talk by Nick Johannsen (National Landscape Director) on ‘The Kent Downs National Landscape and the proposed UNESCO cross-channel Geopark’ as it has relevance to the heritage of Canterbury and its natural environment.

” In celebration of the chalk and the channel, the Kent Downs National Landscape team, along with their counterparts in France, are working to secure Cross-Channel UNESCO Global Geopark status for the Kent Downs National Landscape together with neighbouring protected landscape in France, the Parc Naturel Regional des Caps et Marais d’Opale. The Geopark will include both the protected landscapes and the Channel connecting them, recognising and celebrating the geological connection between us”
